Bicycling -

There's easy riding on this flat land (as long as the wind is at your back). The Wheel Doctor Cycle and Sports on Talbot Street in St Michaels rents bicycles, tandems or recumbent bikes and will deliver here at no charge. Call 410-745-6676 or email wheeldr@goeaston.net.

Birdwatching & Wildlife -

Be sure to check the most recent "Birds of Wade's Point B & B" listing on the refrigerator in the guest kitchen. Our friends at the Talbot Bird Club are always adding new species.

The Jean Ellen duPont Shehan Audubon Sanctuary, located at 23000 Wells Point Road in Bozman, is headquarters for the Maryland/District of Columbia Audubon Society and offers 950 magnificent acres open to the public on select days. 410-745-9283.

Pickering Creek Audubon Center, 11450 Audubon Lane, Easton is a private non-profit sanctuary of the Chesapeake Audubon Society. You will find 400 acres of protected, hardwood forest, non-tidal wetland, wildlife, plants and nature preserve. Field trips, canoe rentals and displays are available. 410-822-4903.

Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge is just a short distance to the south in Dorchester County and has 23,0000 acres of tidal marsh for migratory birds. 410-228-2677.

Boating -

Concerts -

Beginning June 22nd and continuing thru August 17th there will be free "Concerts in the Park". Muskrat Park in St Michaels is the place and Thursday Evenings 6:30 to 8 PM is the time. 410-745-6073.

Cruises -

Take a leisurely cruise up the Miles River aboard the climate-controlled Patriot while you listen to an historic narration of Talbot County. 410-745-3100.

Farmer’s Markets -

Saturday mornings, May 6th thru October 27th, you can shop for fresh produce, plants, flowers and other items on Green Street at Muskrat Park 8AM to noon.

Fly-fishing -

The best fishing waters for Rockfish and Bluefish are right off Wades Point. Have a certified Orvis guide take you out in a 19 foot Hewes flatboat. Visit www.chesapeakebayflyfishing.com for more information.

Golf -

Harbourtowne Golf Resort is located 5 miles from the Inn and is an 18 hole, par 70 Pete Dye designed championship course. 410-7745-9066.

Hog Neck Golf Course in Easton is rated among the "Top 25 Public Golf Courses in the Country" by Golf Digest and has a par 72, 18 hole course as well as a par 32 Executive Nine Hole Course. 410-822-6079.

The Easton Club on Clubhouse Drive in Easton is a par 72, 18 hole championship course for public play featuring 6,700 yards of unique challenges for all levels of golfers. 410-820-9100.

History -

Be sure to look through the history book, "Thomas Kemp, Shipbuilder, and his home, Wades Point" located in your room. You’ll discover many interesting facts about this old house, it's former residents and happenings that took place here in years gone by.

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum brings to life the story of the Bay and the people who have lived around it. It's a "must see" while in St. Michaels. 410-745-2916.

St Mary’s Square Museum dates back to the 1800’s and is open 10AM to 4PM May-Oct on Saturday and Sunday. 410-745-9561.

The Oxford-Bellevue Ferry was established in 1683 and runs continuously 9AM to sundown, March thru November. 410-745-9023.

The Historical Society of Talbot County, located on Washington Street in Easton is open Tuesday thru Saturday with guided walking tours. 410-822-0773.

Kayaking -

Registered guests are welcome to use the single or tandem kayaks located out by the cove. Sign one out at the front desk, get you paddle and life vest and enjoy! Or, you may choose a guided, unguided, sunset, moonlight or custom tour from Harris Creek Kayak located on Route 33 in Sherwood. Contact Pete Raynor, 410-886-2083 for more details.
